Wanna-Do-Tattoo ?
| Tattoo Nites |
...So, You Wanna Do Tattoo...
Being a licensee can sometimes be a blessing and also a curse, lol. Often you are so tied to the business you just never have free time to idle about window shopping - so often people come in for a carvery or a meal etc and chat along about new shops or tops or their latest tattoo etc - and i thought - hang on a minute... If i can't get to them, maybe they'd come to me!!
So... We are planning our 1st meeting up of like-minded souls on Wed 28th OCT 09 then EVERY WEDNESDAY after that (unless it collides with relevant dates ie xmas etc) at 8pm here at the Unity Brook in Kearsley. Don't forget - all you need is an interest and thats it !!

| WOT ITS ABOUT |
Its quite a simple idea really. On a wednesday night, say 8pm - there's an open invitation to anyone who's interested in tattoos. Whether you want one, know someone who wants one - or your a tattoo pro or even just curious about how to get started. Come along !!
WE will not be 'selling' tattoos/skills etc etc etc. All we (as in The Unity Brook) are doing is holding a wednesday evening for anyone who is interested in tattoos or learning how to do them, and also - any professional who attends and supports the group by giving advice and just chipping in or whatever is free to PROMOTE his/her own business. Yes its that simple. We have lots of people who discuss tattoos around the bar over the month - and its a sure way of gaining extra custom for yourself (and us too) as nobody sits in a pub without a drink !!

The tattoo you can see was actually done three years ago, its a cover over. Obviously this was done by a professional, and it has to be noted here that we would NEVER advise anyone to have a tattoo done by someone who simply claimed they were learning or training. Unless you go through the expense of laser treatment - whatever you put on your body - you are STUCK WITH IT - please remember that. Because i spent a long time choosing my tattoo cover-over, and then a week of watching the results of her other tattoos - i have never regretted my choice or my tattoo. In fact, i waited three years before i went back to GREECE to have her do my second tattoo which i designed myself.
And so... where were we - arr Yes... tattooing and you... ok..... Right, what i aim to achieve is a collection of inks, guns etc etc etc... (which i am in the process of right now).... For those that wish to learn about tattooing and would like to have a try before they splash out on the equipment we intend to have a set-up ready so you can have a try at a basic tattoo. This is NOT to promote side-line tattooing by any stretch of the imagination - the road to being a tattooist is a long one. It involves a great deal of learning about many many things from skin types, to skin diseases to autoclaves!! You will be given a small piece of synthetic skin - and under no circumstances be allowed to touch real skin. We have over 100,000 designs and folders are in process to make viewing easier. We're hoping to have a mixture of talented artists to chat to, - maybe seek advice on a cover-up tattoo, or something like tattoo removal. We intend to INVITE local (Bolton) shop based tattooists and invited to promote their business if they so wish, plus give demonstrations, answer questions and just guide you in general. Remember - this is your skin = your HEALTH = your safety - Look After It.

Now this particular design is entirely unique. It looks abit scary to those that don't understand what it actually represents. But in truth it is steeped in history dating back to ancient times. And for those that are squirming (lol) nooooo its definitely NOT anything to do with the devil - in fact its exactly the opposite!! (Holy Pentacles).
This tattoo took me months of research in order to find exactly what i wanted as i knew it would be there for the rest of my life. It represents Protection, Power & Prosperity for myself & those i love and seek to protect. They are talismans that date back thousands of years.
Any decent tattooist (in my humble opinion) would ask you at least twice if you wanted a name or a daft picture - ultimately it is your own choice - but always think carefully - If you simply want a tattoo, then opt for something that has meaning or relevance to you or your loved ones.
