Due to work demands i have been unable to allocate time to starting a WLS Friends Group - BUT - if you or someone you know does have the time i would be very grateful if someone could get it started.  It doesn't require specialist skills as such, just someone with experience of WLS and a nice sociable personality... 

This section has been added BECAUSE we have several customers who have had weight loss surgery, and even myself (the licensee).

I often come across people who haven't seen me for a few years and they are shocked at my weight loss, and i am the first to say Weight Loss Surgery, to which they often know someone who's had it, or someone who wants it, or actually wants to consider it for themself.  This is where the idea of the WLS Friends group came from - and the only thing that is stopping it is my lack of time to stop still, sit down and create it  in order to bring people together...

This will be for general support and to share real life experiences and must not be mistaken to be a 'clinic' offering medical advice...

WHEN ?

Tuesday or Wednesday?  These are quiet evenings and ideal for people meeting up without the unecessary worry of people listening in....      I had 8.30pm in mind - but please feel free to come earlier or later if the time is an issue.

MY OWN STORY

At one stage i was almost 20 stone!!  In feb 2006 i had weight loss surgery (gastric band) and my current weight is now 9st 12*  (todays date 16/10/08).   It has been a difficult journey in many ways, but none-the-less one i would repeat again if i had too!                                                                  

The one thing that kept me sane was online support, but what would have been better would have been friends who had already walked the walk and knew the route well.   I am quite happy to share my experiences with people who are struggling with obesity - but please understand that i can't offer any medical advice, i'm a licensee not a doctor! lol.
